I had the opportunity to grow up in Western Nebraska in Bayard. I remember trips to Scottsbluff, Gering, Alliance, Chadron, Bridgeport, Kimball for music, sports and even roller-skating back in the day. I married a girl from Imperial, and lived in North Platte for my grade school years. McCook, Sidney, Ogallala and Grant were all communities that made memories for me.
I’ll always remember the values and support from the various communities. I graduated from Chadron State College, and still encourage kids I know to take a hard look at them when considering their education plans.
